Taken through flyscreen mesh so that's why it looks grainy but this is
my fire escape railing outside my window. You can see the inches of
      snow stacked on it!

I woke up this morning pulled open the blinds and behold, it snowed
over 2 inches last night!! Whoa!

Also I've found an even easier way to post to my blog from my phone so
hopefully this means more regular updates but probably a few more
spelling mistakes as well. It's as easy as sending an email.

Sorry for the lack of updates over the last couple of weeks. I've been
to Australia and back as my brother got married! A bit of a whirlwind
      trip!

      NYC - Random music

Similar to London, in NYC you'll often hear random acts of music. On the subway, on the street, in a park. Here are a few of things I've captured recently:

MJ in the good ol' days

Psychedelic ambient stoner music in a Lower East Side park. Note the guy on the ladder in the background clearing the tree branches away. He must be thinking 'what the..?'

      Harmony on the subway

      Lexington Candy Shop

Although it's called a candy shop this place is a cool little american old skool diner. According to their menu, it was established in 1925 and has been through the Great Depression, periods of high inflation, 14 presidents, the roaring 20s, the rebellious 60s, the go-go 80s, the high tech 90s and the new millennium.

Photos adorning the walls show celebrities who have visited at one time or another and movie posters boast a biography of films it has appeared in. The last time it was renovated was in 1948, so walking into this quaint little luncheonette feels like walking into a time warp.

This was my second time to the lovely Lexington Candy Shop but it definitely won't be my last.

      Drive to Marrakesh pt2

It's 8am here and I can feel the warmth of the sun on my face but overnight the snow capped mountains became fully snow covered mountains. We stayed the night in Ouarzazate in the hope that the road to Marrakesh, which cuts through the Atlas, would be open but its still closed.

This means we need to drive around the mountain instead of through it. Since there aren't that many main roads in Morocco our 4hr drive just turned into 11hrs.

It's going to be a long day.

      Drive to Marrakesh

Morocco weather is like Melbourne weather. Four seasons in one day. Yesterday we were stuck in a sandstorm and today a snowstorm. We're currently on the road in the high Atlas mountains trying to get to Marrakesh and the traffic is banked up as far as I can see... I need to pee. Not good.

Update: 2hrs later. We are totally snowed in. The amount of snow is unbelievable and it keeps pouring down. I just ran out of the car and peeed in the snow. Ahh! Our driver is getting really grumpy. We are going to have to turn around. Its now going to take us another 11hrs drive to get to marrakesh now instead of 2hrs. Shit.

Update: 1hr later. Crap we can't make the drive. We are stuck here for the night and will try and drive out in the morning.
