Finally got my jacket back yesterday. It took about 4 weeks, but the tailor did a good job. I think I will go back and get a few other shirts altered.

      Remembering the ANZACs

I haven't eaten a meat pie in years, so I was pleasantly surprised when they were being sold during ANZAC day celebrations here. Headed down to Pier 66 where it was all happening, and I think most of the Aussie's in New York had the same idea. Spent a lovely afternoon seaside, eating pies and chips, with live music, good company and as a bonus some didgeridoo playing. They even had footy handball competitions, you know the ones where you have to handball it through a hole in a wooden board to win!

...with the Asus eee PC 1000HE.

After much excitement (and usual impulsivity) I picked one up last night and spent several hours playing with it. I was convinced that it would make me even more mobile, and I'd be able to take it to Starbucks every weekend and blog and read the news on it. But my friends were quick to point out that I could do this already with my current Macbook or iPhone if I really wanted to. I told them, "no, it's the not the same thing, this thing is really light and portable and unlike the iPhone it has a proper keyboard". Anywayyyy, in the end they were right of course, so my love affair with the Asus eee ended ubruptly this morning and I took it back to the shop and got a refund.

      It is damn cute however...

At a diner waiting for my bacon egg and cheese on toast.

We went sake drinking at Sake Bar Decibel again last night. Had all
sorts of interesting food including seaweed, lotus root (which was
surprisingly good!), eel, and Japanese pancakes (which tasted nothig
      like pancakes).

Had both hot and cold sake, and previous to what I thought, I think I
like the cold better now. There's less pressure to get it down fast.

Highlight of the night - contributing to the grafitti on their walls.
Haha. Will post some pics later.

Went to the Flea Theater the other night to see Love/Stories (or But You Will Get Used To It). Really enjoyed it. I forgot how much I like theater.

Taken from its website, here's what the Flea is about - go visit it!

"Founded in 1996 by three of New York’s most acclaimed downtown theater artists—director Jim Simpson, designer Kyle Chepulis and playwright Mac Wellman—the award-winning Flea Theater was originally formed out of the purely artistic impulse to create “a joyful hell in a small space”. Brash, energetic and dedicated, we quickly became a downtown beacon for creative artists of every discipline, and for audiences seeking bold and inventive work.

Soon a more formal mission was born: to present distinctive work that raises the standards of Off-Off-Broadway for artists and audiences alike. Comfortable seats and decent dressing rooms became as much a part of our goal as our commitment to supporting talented artists with big ideas."
