Sorry for lack of posts lately, have been a bit lazy, but last night was too good not to write about!! Saw John Mayer at Madison Square Garden for his Battlestudies tour!

At first I was hesitant to even get tickets. I liked his old stuff more and the price was a bit steep US$95, but I was pleasantly surprised. He played an awesome set - a few songs from Battlestudies but dropped in a number of classics like Comfortable (one of my faves), No Such Thing, Gravity, and Why Georgia. I actually found myself going for a bathroom/drink break during a Battlestudies song - Assassin - don't know the new stuff just isn't as good.

The only song I wish I heard but didn't was Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.

All in all it was brilliant however, much better than his show in Melbourne which I saw many years back. It was also the first time I'd been to Madison Square Garden. It's a great venue - not too large and good viewing angle of the stage.

I'll leave you with a video. He opened with Heartbreak Warfare...one of my faves from Battlestudies.
